THE ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE

    The ‘Allegory Of The Cave’ is a theory put forward by Plato, concerning human perception. Plato claimed that knowledge gained through the senses is no more than opinion and that, in order to have real knowledge, we must gain it through philosophical reasoning. (https://www.philosophyzer.com/the-allegory-of-the-cave-by-plato-summary-and-meaning/)

    In Plato's "Allegory of the Cave", he emphasized that people tend to believe based on what they see and hear and because of that we sometimes interpret things differently.  We are used to say this expression "to see is to believe" but it should not be taken seriously because not all that we can see is the truth. Sometimes we are just blinded and trapped to our beliefs of the things and keep our mind close to accept things opposite to what we believed in. 

    

    In my case, I often judge things and situations solely based on what I see and hear from people around me and at some point I realize, I am hurting. Not because of the people around me but because  on how I understand and interpret things. Also when I am in the situation where my emotions are seem to be unmanageable, I keep mind close and often make an abrupt judgement without being composed and rational. Sometimes due to my emotions, I don't give someone a chance to explain the situations to me. I don't lend my ears to listen to them. I just want them to only listen to me. But deep down I know, I am wrong and that I should give anyone a chance to tell me their side of the story to make a fair judgement. IN LIFE, we should learn to be open of all the possibilities that may happen to us. And sometimes we need to take some risks to know the truth and not to be blinded with someone who will just take advantage of our kindness and weakness. We have the right to know and learn the truth even though it may cause us heartaches and pain. And that, we should not be a prisoner of our past but we should be a conqueror of our present so that in the future we can govern a kingdom.

     TRUST is earned and not demanded to someone. Once you earned your trust to someone it means that you love that person and is important to your life. That person will greatly influence your life. You will do everything for them and ready to take risks because you believe in them. But by the time the trust is broken, it will take ages and even forever to make yourself to trust someone again. Because of that you will not take a risk again to trust someone. You will close and guard yourself so that you will not be hurt again by someone. You will not allow yourself to be in that situation again. 

     One thing I have learned in life is that you should trust the effort and sincerity of the person but not the person itself. Ones personality is unpredictable even yourself. Trust the process not the product.  Believe in yourself, everything is possible and bearable. Don't let someone to ruin you as a person. Don't be afraid of the truth by allowing yourself to be submerged in the water that full of lies.
